Tell Us
We've read recently over on GOP3 some comments about the future of the Republican Primary here in the Seventh District. There are opinions about the chances of winning the race and there is an exchange as to whether we will see a contested primary or if the field will be cleared.
We prefer a clear primary, but we realize our opinion is just that - our opinion. However, we would like to hear what everyone else out there thinks.
So, this is our invitation to comment away. Do you think we should clear the primary? If so, who should that candidate be? Who has the best chance of winning in November and why?

Clear primary is best because resources are limited. The candidate can focus his message 100% on defeating Obey.
I think Tyberg and Reid are both good on the issues. I favor Reid, but only because he's demonstrated that he has the most comprehensive campaign - best chance to win.
I agree. Reid has shown himself to be the best candidate, and I think it would be great if Tyberg would team up with Reid to go against Obey with a united base.
I know Jeff is a former missionary, and I would like him to know that I along with many others are praying that God would use Jeff and Nick together as a team toward victory. God works in mysterious ways, and although I know it would be hard to drop out of a race, I think that if Jeff would join Nick's campaign they would together be able to put out an effort the likes of which has never been seen here in the 7th.
well, if God told Jeff to get in, maybe God can tell him to get out.
I met jeff on the campaign trail . . . nice guy, conservative enough for me, seems like he's working hard . . . but there's a difference between working hard and getting results. Reid has shown results. I hope jeff will follow Scott Walker and Dave Robinson's lead and clear the field.
where's bob? (bob, now Tyberg's campaign manager according to another blog, and I'm wondering how Tyberg is paying bob and his "communications director" when he hasn't raised any money, of course the answer is these guys are just volunteers that Tyberg has given inflated titles too)
Anyway, bob usually gets on these blogs to tell us how wrong we are. On one recent post he said Tyberg was assembling a formidible force the likes of which the sevent district has never seen.
If there are legions of people rising up to help tyberg, I haven't met any. If there are even 250 people, tyberg would have only needed to raise $20 from each one to get to $5000 raised (the threshold for FEC filing). If in 12 months, you can't find 250 people to support you (roughly 20 a month, less than one per day) and you're running a grassroots campaign, you aren't running a successful grassroots campaign.
I don't want us wasting our time with tyberg when he's not a serious candidate. Why can't the County Party Chairmen canvass their county organizations and vote on a candidate to endorse. If a candidate gets 60% of those votes, he wins the endorsement and can move on - presenting a united front.
sound good to anyone else?
Tyberg was a missionary and the assitant manager at a coffee shop, though he's referred to himself as an entrepreneur. I realize entrepreneurs often have to go through a slow start-up phase, but the complete lack of capital should concern us all. This business enterprise known as Tyberg for Congress has gone public, and it isn't selling.
Oh, let's throw that analogy out the window. Tyberg can't win. It's time for Tyberg to stop.
you guys are being a little hard on Jeff, aren't you?
tough love!
I have been reading another GOP blog, gop-spot.blogspot.com, they are starting to pick up on the 7th CD race as well. Thought some of you may want to check it out.
