And the Winner is . . .

Thanks to all who participated in our first online poll (which was clearly not scientific).

Here are the results:

Nick Reid - 85%
Jeff Tyberg - 11%
Dave Robinson - 4%

Congratulations to Nick Reid and his supporters.

We'd like to thank everyone for the 80 votes we received. Not bad for a one month old blog. We will do another poll early next year to see if things have changed.

This is evidence of what a lot of us out here are starting to figure out about these three candidates. Nick Reid is building a much better campaign organization than the other two. Let's all get behind someone like Nick who is busy doing the right things to actually have a chance to win next November.

You Nick Reid people are shameless. This site is clearly being run by him. You probably sat up all night at your computer voting for him but trying not to make it "too obvious." How very sad you'll all be when Obey walks with close to 70%. Will Nick move back to DC again then?

If I could have voted all night, I would have, but if you tried to vote twice, the program wouldn't let you. Maybe, just maybe when Nick sends out an appeal to a few hundred supporters, some of them take the time to log on and vote.

We assume this is the same person who has accused us a couple other times of being Nick Reid. We are not, nor have we ever been Nick Reid and we do not, nor will we ever discuss with him what we are going to put up on this site.

We set up the poll in such a way that you could not merely sit at your computer and continue to vote. Sorry to burst your bubble on that one.

Dave Obey will not win with 70% of the vote, the district is too evenly split to have that happen if a Republican runs agressively against him. And on that point, people who are so negative about our prospects like you seem to be are not helping. Maybe you're just an Obey supporter who has logged on to check out what the other side is doing.

Finally, if you have complaints, suggestions or questions for a candidate specifically, please log on to their blogs and ask because we can't answer for them:

Dave Robinson, no blog. Click here for his website.

Jeff Tyberg

Nick Reid

Thanks for reading.

Well, Obey Out is barely technologically sophisticated enough to run this blog. We don't know about disabling cookies. We are doing this because we want to expose Dave Obey's record and help a Republican nominee defeat him next November. We have no desire to cheat and we watched the poll results come in, and there were no magical overnight increases in votes. There were only 80 overall for 3 1/2 days.

I'm a Nick Reid supporter. I got an e-mail from his campaign on Monday and logged on once and voted. I checked back Tuesday evening when I got home from work to see that he had won.

I got another e-mail from him on Wednesday which said he has a few hundred signed up to receive e-mails from him. I doubt it's a conspiracy to fix the vote. It sounds to me like Reid just has more support out here and is putting a campaign organization in place to reach out to us.

Maybe the previous e-mailer supports one of the other Republican candidates, or maybe it's an Obey staffer trying to undermine us. It won't stop me from supporting Nick.
