Where's Dave(o)?

According to GOP-spot, Congressman Obey skipped the Wausau Memorial Day parade.

This is interesting not because we expect him to show up at community events unless he's guaranteed a chance to flap his gums with the press, but this was in his supposed hometown (he does own a small condo in Wausau anyway). Moreover, his staff went out of the way Friday to say Obey was "on a plane flying back to Wisconsin" during the House office building shutdown.

If he was flying back home, where was he? We can't find evidence from any newspaper that he was anywhere in Wisconsin this weekend for Memorial Day observations.

I'd say check in with the Aspen Institute to see if they've flown him off to another exotic location like they did in February.

I did not see Tyberg either. Nick had a great team of campaigners!!!! Everywhere I turned I saw "Reid For Congress" stickers. They had a great decorated vehicle, and plenty of folks to hand out literature, etc. As Nick passed my family, the folks around me were quite impressed.

Nick's running a comprehensive Congressional campaign. Tyberg acts like he's running for Grantsburg school board.

Nick's a great candidate. Unfortunately, 7th District Republicans are mired in a negative attitude instead of recognizing that this is a true toss-up district. They ought to act like it and get behind Nick and help him win. As far as I'm concerned anyone who has been running for Congress for over a year as Tyberg has and can't raise any money should be written off as a non-candidate.

I have faith that Jeff will see the light and join Nick's team. Jeff is a good guy, but like several have said he just doesn't have the funds to compete. He could help Nick though, I just wish there were another office for him to seek so we all could support both. But the bottom line is Nick is the only real challenger.

Jeff, please take one for the team!!! I do not think there is one person out there who would disagree that your heart is in this race. I doubt there is one person who has a personally negative thing to say about you.

We are merely concerned with the facts. Nick has been able to raise money and you have not. Nick has national support and you do not. Nick has a large, talented and experienced staff, and you do not.

Join Nick's team to ensure a better tomorrow! We know you want what is best for District 7. Seriously think about how we can achieve that. Is it going to be by worrying about a primary where both you and Nick are going to fight Republican v. Republican and spend much needed money. Or, are we going to win by rallying around one guy with the support of all.

By not dropping out, you are delaying the inevitable. You are blocking donors who do not donate until after the primary. You are blocking a win in November.

Think about it.
