In Case You Missed It
Both Republicans, Reid and Tyberg, were supposed to be on the air (Wisconsin Public Radio) to discuss why they are the right candidate to take on Dave Obey.

Tyberg was a no show. Oops.
Oh, and lest we let him off the hook. Dave Obey declined a 30 minute segment to tell why he was the best man for the job. And to the last caller, name ONE thing Dave Obey has done on a national level that makes him a "statesman."

Obey did cast the deciding vote to raise taxes on Social Security benefits.
He did??? Can you prove it?
It passed by one vote, and he voted for it. Proof enough?
Technically, Al Gore cast the "deciding vote" as Vice President, but any way you slice it, it passed by one vote. You can pick whoever you'd like to be the guilty party; they're all guilty.
The Daily Telegram in Superior was kissing Obey's ass over the weekend. He got front page coverage for holding a meeting with officials of the People's Republic of Douglas County.
The Telegram is a bunch of pawns.
you mean the smell-a-gram :)
I prefer to call it the Daily Paragraph, though Daily Fishwrapper is more accurate.
Douglas County is not a separate republic. We are a monarchy, thank you very much.
Two years ago the editor of the Daily Fishwrapper endorsed President Bush for re-election. That editor was transfered to another paper in the company before being fired just a few months later.
Our current editor looks like a cross between little Napolean and V. Lenin. We could call him Napolenin.
I think that Tyberg did not show up because he did not have the gas money to get there.
Not entirely fair as it was a scheduled phone interview. He may have overslept, or just forgot. Either way, not good.
Tyberg missed the forum because he was busy attacking Reid for not debating him. I wouldn't have believed it but it is Jeff. I saw this attack on Reid in newspaper this week.
You may not be chicken, but the vote in the House of Representatives to raise taxes, including those on Social Security passed by one in 1994, and Obey voted for it. That's casting the deciding vote. If he votes no, it doesn't pass.
