Not a suprising result, the Reid team has a lot of momentum on it's side. Jeff had a good start to his campaign but the lack of money has really hurt him. It's begining to look more and more that Reid is the only candidate that can mount a serious challenge to Obey.

I met Tyberg first and I really liked him. Then of course I met Reid and I liked him too. I was curious to see how this would play out. It's my biggest hope that Tyberg will learn some lessons from this race and come back again for this or another office better prepared. If he could do that I think he could do well. But at this point most of the GOPers I know have jumped to Reid and think he has a real shot.

I heard Reid will have an impressive fundraising mark to report at the end of June - time for Tyberg to get out.

I found out about Nick soon after he originally launched his website. I donated to him within 24 hours, I believe.

The first candidate I met in person was Jeff Tyberg, and I met him in October 2005. I did not even know he was in the race until that day.

Nick has impressed me from Day 1. He has a great number of qualities that lead me to support him early without question or hesitation.

Jeff is certainly not a bad person and I think his heart is in the right place; however, I think he should bow out. There are factors both inside and outside of Jeff's control that should lead him to the decision to drop out of this race. I think there is a place for Tyberg in the party, perhaps as an elected Republican (local office or possibly the state legislature).

The other problem is that Jeff's continuation in this race delay's Nick's annointing and helps Dave Obey. I know nothing about Nick's fundraising report, but if it is impressive, it will be even MORE impressive if Jeff officially steps down and endorses Nick. People in the 7th and throughout the State will back Nick BEFORE the filing period as THE candidate in the 7th to support. Like no other before him, Nick has the best opportunity to dethrone the misnamed Goliath, Dave Obey.

Whether he wants to admit it or not, Jeff is giving aid and comfort to the enemy by dividing the party and causing people to withold funding until September 13. As the candidate who unfortunately clearly lacks the resources to win the Primary, the Tyberg campaign no longer serves any purpose than keeping Dave Obey in office.

Sorry for the long post. I just wish that Jeff would let go and let Nick focus entirely on reclaiming the 7th.

That about sounds like the result for the primary if Jeff stays in.

Is this about Jeff or Nick, or is this about giving the long suffering people of the 7th some real representation? I think the answer is the latter, and that means END THIS PRIMARY so we can unite and dump Dave!!!!

Look at it this way-Jeff can back out now and save himself the embarrassment of getting crushed in a primary, get himself more organized (raise $) and come back in a couple years to run for something else (the Congressional seat will be filled by Reid, though), or he will never run another campaign again. Anybody who runs against him in the future would be able to point at this campaign and laugh.

This theory that you can just run your own campaign in one of the largest congressional districts in the country CANNOT work. You might have a chance if you surround yourself with people who have been involved in political campaigns before, but a solo campaign is a waste of resources. You can have a great message, which I agree with, but you have to have $$$$$$$ to spread the message. Even if you were to beat Nick, how would you compete with a 37 year political veteran with $800,000? Come on!!!

Here's a challenge- Jeff, you can show everybody that you have raised some money, have a staff, have campaign offices, have a volunteer base, have party support (national, state and local) and have political common sense I will vote for you in September. If you cannot prove any of those, you are fooling yourself and hurting Nick's chance to win the district. Every day you stay in this race you hold Reid's campaign back. You are blocking money and support.

Is this really about the people of the 7th, or is this about Jeff Tyberg? Because if it is about the people, Jeff, than you have to take a clear look at the facts. If you cannot accept them now, how could we ever trust you as a congressman?

I've heard you speak a few times and you continue to assure people that your campaign is going well. This is reaching a state of craziness!

How about this-Have the party do some sort of an endorsement thing. Have the county leaders or county party members decide. If you have such a strong campaign you'd jump at chance to crush Reid.
