Happy New Year

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season. We spent Christmas with family and friends and took some time off from blogging (no, we didn't get run out of the blogging business by the Democrats and conspiracy theorists posting here).

Our New Year's Resolution - convince more people to get behind the Republican candidate to defeat Dave Obey in 2008.

Now, to Dave Obey's spin doctoring. In this WisPolitics.com article, Obey says Democrat Congress needs to clean up Republican spending and get back to balancing the budget. Yet, he offers no specifics on how to do it. He defended earmarks, and he criticized Republicans for budget cuts. When Democrats aren't talking about making tough choices to balance the budget, it only means one thing - TAX INCREASES are planned.

The other thing in this article that bothers us is that Dave Obey renewed his call for public financing of elections. Again, as we've posted before, this will never happen and Dave Obey knows it. It allows him to look all "man of the people" while knowing he can keep ringing up the campaign cash register with special interest financing and winning lopsided elections. Imagine if Obey and his Republican opponent had roughly the same amount of money to spend when in the past Obey can outspend his opponent 5 to 1.

And finally, another lie from Obey. From the article, "Obey also knocked Republicans for not passing appropriations bills, especially those needed for health care, in the previous session, saying they'll have to pass two years worth of appropriations bills in the new year."

Yet again, his friends in the press did not call him on this blatant disregard for the truth. As we've covered (and been blasted for by our Democrat posting friends), Obey has already announced the Democrats will not be passing the 2007 appropriations bills but instead start working on the 2008 bills.

If we keep electing this guy, this is what we will continue to get. Talking like a populist moderate, voting and working like a lying elitist liberal.

The real issue is that the owner again deflects the commentary from the sites origins and true intent. What he did not address (again) is that this site was created NOT just to defeat Obey but also to work FOR Reid from the beginning.

How soon before ObeyOut2006 vanishes and the stumping for Reid begins on ObeyOut2008???

Ummmm, you evidently know what spin is, and how to cycle it to the whacko right. Look at the facts: OUR elected party did NOT finish the appropriations work that should have been completed by October 1, 2006. They put it off by passing continuing resolutions to keep the U.S. Government operating, but did little of the actual work needed to pass spending bills for 2007. The current congress was left facing TWO years of work, not just what they were elected in November to do.

The "Do Nothing" moniker that has been labeled on Congress the last few years for their lack of true governing is a disgrace.... The fact that you SUPPORT this type of governance calls into question your patriotism as an American, if you are one.

Fastest growing political organization in Wisconsin. Go to www.northwoodsrepublicans.com

When Iron County joins Northwoods Republicans (NWR) the new organization will stretch across the northern portion of Wisconsin from Minnesota to Michigan.

To the same person who posted twice. First, the purpose of this blog is to take on Dave Obey. We don't care what your opinion is about our origins or true intent. We don't know what Nick Reid is going to do in 2008. In fact, according to some of our sources, he will not be running but there's been no official announcement. Yet, we're posting anyway.

Second, our point was Dave Obey lied when he said they would pass two appropriations bills. The Democrats have already stated they have no intention of passing the 2007 bills. Obey lied. Where in the post did we defend Republicans for not passing the bills? Though we will remind you that the House of Representatives passed all but one of their appropriations bills. It was the obstructionist Democrats in the Senate who didn't allow appropriations bills to go anywhere. We've tried to give you a civics lesson on how the Senate works before, but you don't seem to care. The new Democrat majority will soon find out how hard it is to pass bills without 60 votes in the Senate.

Three posts at 6:33 PM. Sounds desperate.

I visited www.northwoodsrepublicans, and found it outdated, equally desperate and spouting the same rapidly diminishing vomit that has led our party to the right wing brink of disaster that we now face.

Quote: "When Iron County joins Northwoods Republicans (NWR) the new organization."

Wow. Okay. That is... uhmmm... impressive? And you're proud of this statement?

The fact that you are waiting for Iron County to allow you to "stretch across the northern portion of Wisconsin from Minnesota to Michigan" really shows a lack of depth, strength and creativity.

However, names listed on the website narrow the field of people responsible for this site, which gives hope for our real 7th District Republicans.

I urge all readers of this blog to visit the site and judge for yourselves, and to pass the website along to ALL fellow Republicans they know in the district to evaluate for themselves.

The future of our party is at stake: Do yo belive in the Abe Lincoln/Jerry Ford values of our party, or the Richard Nixon/Ronald Reagan direction advocated here?

You cannot possibly be equating Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. Nixon was no conservative. He and Ford were cut of the same Republican cloth on social and foreign policy. Reagan and Ford were more alike on fiscal policy. Nixon was a good politician, a moderate Republican, and a mediocre chief executive who helped set the stage for the malaise of the later 1970's.

Please, we all know you're not that bright, your comments are virtually the same in every post, and you seem fixated on who owns this site, but at least try getting your facts and history straight.

P.S. Objectively, there's no way the owners of Obey Out could have posted the simultaneous message as the Northwoods Republican poster (who apparently hit publish twice).
