Reid Files FEC Report - Outraises Obey in Wisconsin

For the Second Quarter of 2006, Nick Reid raised $58,441 and ended the quarter with $65,172 cash on hand. He has raised over $119,000 total for the Election, the most by any Republican candidate running against Dave Obey by June 30th.

As we reported earlier, only $36,627 of Dave Obey's fundraising came from inside Wisconsin. According to Reid's report, $25,270 of his itemized contributions were from inside Wisconsin and he also raised $20,670 in unitemized contributions (small donors who give less than $200). While we can't see Reid's database, we can extrapolate that if 80% of his itemized contributions were from inside Wisconsin, it is extremely likely that at least 80% of his unitemized contributions were from inside Wisconsin, meaning over $41,000 of Reid's contributions were from inside of Wisconsin - besting Obey by $5,000.

So, in the Second Quarter of 2006, Nick Reid found more support from people living in Wisconsin, then did Dave Obey.

Not to get into this thing with Tyberg supporters again, but many of them have come on this blog and said Nick is too connected to Washington. If Nick raised over 70% of his money from inside Wisconsin, I think that little argument goes right out the window.

I agree . . . and let me just say, way to go Nick. I know it's hard but keep up the good work.

Great Job by the Reid Team! Like has been mentioned earlier this is an objective fact, not an emotional arguement. It also serves as further proof the Reid is going to give Obey a heck of a run this year!

I think the Reid team should total up how many contributions they got officially from Wisconsin and total up Obey's (he lists them all in his report) and put out a press release. Outraising Obey in Wisconsin is news (or at least it should be).

Does anyone think Tyberg raised more than another $1000 the last two weeks of June or have more than $2000 on hand? Wouldn't being outraised almost 12 to 1 and and being out cash-on-handed by 32 to 1 make you think it's time to bow out gracefully.

What Jeff does or doesn't do is almost pointless now. He's on the ballot so his dropping out probably wouldn't be recognized to help out anyway. What would help is of the District Party would endorse Reid, and send letters to PACs on his behalf stating that he is the legit candidate in the race.
