Obey's Out of Touch Postal Patron (campaign mailing)
A while back we commented on how "ridiculous" Dave Obey was for holding Medicare Part D (prescription drug) town hall meetings 3 weeks after the deadline passed to sign up.
Well, he's sent out another postal patron mailing (essentially a campaign mailing at taxpayer expense) . It's full of a lot of fluffy, self-promoting, blaming Republicans for all that's wrong with the world GARBAGE.
Well, we were particularly amused that Dave Obey believes the following headline from his mailing, "Global Warming: The Greatest Challenge We Face."
The greatest challenge we face is global warming???? We could get into the technical arguments whether or not its global warming or just cyclical climate change, but we'll leave that for the experts. But the fact that Global Warming is first, in real scientific doubt, and second, a problem that would have no real effect humans for thousands of years even if true, means Obey has completely lost touch with reality and certainly lost touch with the people of his district.
What about jobs and health care? What about immigration, education and wasteful government spending? What about promoting traditional marriage to ensure we bolster the foundation of our society?
Obey has just proven our point, 37 years is too long for anyone to serve in Congress.

I recieved this in the mail too and I'm just getting sick of Obey's BS on these issues. He has been moaning and whining about the Healthcare issue forever now, and yet I still haven't been able to find the "Dave Obey Healthcare Bill" anywhere! It's the same thing over and over again. We need someone who will do something about these problems instead of blaming others and complaining.
Did anyone see the article by the Wausau Daily Herald on Reid's income? Did you think that was a fair article? It is at this address: http://www.wausaudailyherald.com

Article is by Brian Tumulty and the headline is "Obey Opponent Could Triple Pay with Election Win."
I saw this too. I thought the headline was a smear, but the text of the article I thought was alright because it showed that our two candidates are regular people. I did think it was a slam on Tyberg worse because it pointed out his wife is supporting him. The most agrivating thing is that they would run a story on that instead of the issues that matter to people. Like the one's brought up here or in the press releases by the candidates, mostly Reid.
This post shows what Obey's real priorties are. Rather than work to bring more jobs to Northern WI, he wants to shut down businesses in the name of some extremest theory!
It's just a stupid story. Obey's press person called up the paper in an effort to demean Nick Reid and pretty much rip Tyberg. It's a joke and the fact the newspaper would print it proves what a joke they are. Let's remember that Dave Obey has been running for office since he finished college. He hasn't ever held down a real job.
